Protima still needs Help

Printer-friendly version

Help Protima! On behalf of Protima and her family I would like to thank Ananda Subramanian Prabhu (IA, USA) and one anonymous vaisnava for donating U$ 100 and U$ 50, respectively. Protima left Mayapur for Vellore, Tamil Nadu, where the Christian Medical College & Hospital, one of India's best known and reputed medical facilities, offers "Low-cost, but Effective Treatment Wards" for poor patients, among various kinds of specialized and high-tech facilities.

Until now only IRS. 26,000 have been donated for Protima's surgery, including the two donations mentioned above. HH Jayapataka Maharaja and another ISKCON sannyasi promised to contribute something, too. By definition ISKCON sannyasis don't have personal money, but being part of the ISKCON institution, they can allocate funds to provide emergency assistance if necessary. Still, in my opinion it would be much better if grihastha devotees could chip in to help a vaisnavi in need. While U$ 7,000+ isn't exactly peanuts for most of us, there are many who could easily manage to donate smaller amounts without causing discomfort for themselves or their families. Just imagine yourself or a friend in a similar situation...

Thanks in advance, your servant phani.

Some possible help

Hare Krishna!
I feel the case is genuine and I need to help. However, I do not have ready money. Instead, I have some land which could be mortgaged in exchange for money. Please contact me if this can help in some way.

Mortgage your Land?

hare krsna, please accept my humble obeisances. all glories to srila prabhupada.

thank you very much for your willingness to help protima, but i feel that mortgaging your land is not required.

two ISKCON sannyasis have pledged to help, without stating specific amounts of money. i do think that it would be good if the ISKCON grhastha community could provide emergency help in cases like this, but not by jeopardizing your own (and your family's?) financial future.

nevertheless, i will inform the devotees dealing with this case of your kind offer.

thanks gain, your servant phani.
